Visit Lamèque & Miscou islands

The Acadian island route is the major panoramic road of the whole region of Lamèque, Shippagan and Miscou. The route starts off in Pokemouche with the route 113 and it follows toward Inkerman, then the town of Shippagan and then entering the island of Lamèque. From that point on, we leave the 113 road and continue on the 313. This one will lead us into the western side of the island, we then continue again on the 113 route until we arrive on the Miscou Island.

Here are some points of interest on the panoramic roads:

1-     New Brunswick Aquarium and Marine centre in Shippagan

2-     Ecological park of the Acadian Peninsula in Lamèque

3-     Ste-Cécile church in Petite-Rivière-de l’île

4-     Nicholas-Denys monument in Petit-Shippagan

5-     Lac Frye observation deck and peat moss trail in Miscou

6-     Lighthouses in Miscou and Chiasson office

7-     Cap-Bateau rocks

8-     Dina Bélanger sanctuary

Because of this geographical location, at the tip of the northeast of the Acadian Peninsula, where the Bay of Chaleur and the Bay of St-Lawrence join together, the Acadian islands area known to have stretches of smooth water offering a variety of opportunities for fans of aquatic sports.
